Bryan Duarte grew up in the produce industry and has the unique perspective of viewing fresh through the eyes of; a grower, marketing and sales professional and most recently a buyer.
Growing up in close proximity to the Salinas Valley his father (a financial expert and grower) taught him about volatile markets in row crops. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in International business he took an internship at Driscoll Strawberry associates where he learned the value of selling proprietary varieties.
Working for FoodSource allowed him to represent small organic growers and market their products in the Newman’s Own Organic Brand.
Bryan has served the last 14 years as the Sr. Sourcing Manager for Walmart’s Global Food Sourcing office in California where he is responsible for over 1 out of every 5 grapes sold at retail in the United States.
His passion for the ocean and forecasting not only swells but weather events gives him the ability to lock up fruit before others see a storm or heat wave is coming.
